Imperial Valley Programs and Services
Care and Support
We offer a variety of services to our local families. If you would like to find out more about one of our programs please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Respite Program
Our respite program provides companionship directly to impaired persons and relieves caregivers to run errands, attend a doctor appointment, or to simply take a break.
Helpline
The 24 hour Helpline is available seven days a week. This line allows callers to speak with someone directly. Toll free 800-272-3900. Helpline calls and visits are available in our office during office hours.
Care Consultations
Offers families an opportunity to meet with a family consultant for support and guidance in addressing the needs of the person with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. We provide education about the disease, community resources, and assistance with problem-solving and care-planning. Care Consultations are available during business hours or by appointment.
Support Groups
Support groups are offered at senior living sites and adult day care sites several times per month. They are also offered in our office as needed. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. Also available by appointment.
Third Tuesday of the month: DeAnza Senior Apartments, 233 East 4th St., Calexico, CA at 9:30 a.m.
Second Thursday of the month: Day Out, 174 8th St., Brawley CA at 2:00 p.m.

We register individuals for this program locally and provide enrollment waivers for individuals who have a financial burden and are unable to pay the registration cost.
Community Education Opportunities
A variety of quality seminars and classes for people with early dementia, family caregivers and professionals are available. Lending Library
The lending library is available free of charge for anyone in the Imperial Valley. The library provides resources for caregivers, family members, friends, and persons affected with AD and other dementias. Videos (VHS and DVD), books, and brochures are all available resources. Volunteer Opportunities
Are you interested in volunteering? Stop by our office, or give us a call. We can offer you a rewarding volunteer experience helping the residents of our Valley.
Branch Office Assistance
Assist our team with daily operations to support our mission. Answer Helpline calls for information and referrals. Work in our office: care consultation follow-up, mailings, data entry, or general office tasks. Make a difference by developing a well needed project under the direction of a dynamic staff.
Special Events
Whether you serve as a member of the host committee for our annual events or you provide valuable support at the event, no amount of service is too small. Coordinate your service group or club to assist with the large numbers of volunteers needed to implement our special events.
Outreach
Help us spread the word about Alzheimer’s disease. You will help to establish relationships with key community groups, distribute materials, represent the organization at health fairs in your neighborhood, and /or be a member of our Speakers Bureau.
Support Groups
Our trained facilitators lead over 37 groups throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties. If you have a counseling or group work background, and/or personal or professional experience caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias then you may offer invaluable experience and compassion in our support groups. (Bilingual volunteers also needed)
Advocate
Help shape laws at the federal, state, or local level by communicating Association positions to legislators and educating them about Alzheimer-related issues. Association advocates have helped raise government funds for Alzheimer research and improved access to long-term care for persons in their communities.
Committees
Join one of our committees: Memory Walk, Education or Gala committee.
Thank you to our local sponsors!
